Dover Rent-All was started in 1966 by newly retired, Lt. Col. George Clapp and his wife Carolyn. The first rental item to arrive at the small store in the Dover Farmers Market was a champagne fountain, followed by garden tillers, lawn mowers, china and more. The business was very diverse with party related items on display next to lawn and garden and construction equipment.

The business grew steadily with this philosophy, requiring a move into a new, much larger location a few blocks away in 1985. By the time George and Carolyn retired in 1987, sons David and Chip Clapp had been working in the business for many years. David's attention was focused on the home owner and contractor side of the business while Chip ran the party rental side. The business continued to grow steadily requiring the two operations to separate in 2006. Dover Rent-All Tents & Events now operates out of a 15,000 sq. ft. warehouse and showroom in Dover, just a few blocks away from the original 1966 location!

Our customers range from local families putting together a small back yard graduation party, to college graduations with a tent, stage and chairs for 1,400! We work with professional event planners and caterers all over the Delmarva Peninsula. We provide rental services for Universities, state agencies, museums and parks; and have even tented for the president of the United States! Dover Rent-All Tents & Events strives to exceed your expectations of what a tent and event rental company can be.
